So I finally got around to watching Star Trek Into Darkness. As sequel to the re-imaging of the classic franchise, Into Darkness surpasses the reboot. The chemistry between the main characters: Kirk, Spock, Bones and Uhura continues, in fact I would say they have completely won me over. Pike again brings Shatner's swagger to the character with an added touch of James Dean. Zachary Quinto to me IS Spock, he does however have more issues with controlling emotions more than Nimoy ever did. Karl Urban..what can I say about his Bones..well lets start with AWESOME! Mcoy was never my favourite character growing up. Urban does a great DeForest Kelley impersonation, in fact I prefer Karl's version the good doctor.
Without giving away any plot details. Anyone who has watch Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn, will see slight points from that movie. Other than that, the movie is mostly original. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the main baddie, I have been a fan of this actor since I first watched him in BBC's Sherlock. Cumberbatch's villian is a bad ass from start to finish. Definitely an improvement over Eric Bana. BTW I do like Eric Bana as an actor, just felt his villain in the last Star Trek was weak.
Let's just hope a third movie gets made.
P.S the Klingons looked great
